Votto with the day off. Some days Bell creates his own problems (as in last night when he used the old guard to close out a game rather then the new guys brought in to elevate the pen).

But it seems like fate was unkind to Bell here.  Ideally you would sit Votto against the lefty and play against the righty. But it was nigh impossible to sit Votto last night and he went o-fer against the lefty).  Now to give him a couple days off he sits against a righty when we could use him.

Would have been much nicer had the lefty been going today.

Likewise with Tucker the personal catcher for Miley it forced a lefty/lefty matchup last night which produced an 0-2 for Tucker.  And "forces" a righty/righty matchup today.

I left the Redszone forum for many years and recently decided to give it a try again. I was known as Randy in Fredericksburg VA, Randy in Charlotte...and I am about to chuck it again. What a bunch of jackass’s. I realize all over again why that I left. Hope you are well!

As a former HS coach, I just find it amazing that you would sit Votto in the midst of arguably one of his hottest streaks ever when you desperately need wins. There’s no guarantee that it continues. With all the guys who are out now, I think you gotta ride the hot hand while it’s hot.

These "Sunday" lineups often end up producing.  I just don't think its all that big of a deal to give Joey a day off.  It's not like he isn't available to hit in a key situation if need be.  Just seems silly to obsess over it like they are on the other board.  Long time lurker over there but hope this board turns out to be a more intelligent debate.  Thanks for starting this.

Hopefully Reds will be patient and work Stroman's pitch count.  India goes down swinging. Pitched India tough...  Winker grounds out softly.   Farmer goes down on 2 pitches. 

Not a great start, Stroman is out of inning on 9 pitches

Need Gutierrez to have the game of his life. Strikes out McNeil.  Good inning.  Gets Alonso and Smith on flies. 10 pitches.

Stephenson flies out to RF and Schrock lines an opposite field single. Suarez hits tailor made DP ball but Mets infield messes it up and Schrock is at 2nd with 2 outs for Naquin.

Naquin flies out.

Gutierrez quickly gets Baez and Conforto. Had no idea Drury was so hot.  Drury walks on close pitch.  Pillar grounds out.

Farmer pops out (and does it on first pitch). Stephenson grounds out.  Homer for Schrock !! Suarez singles and then Naquin doubles, but Suarez thrown out at home.

Got no problem trying for it there. But Suarez did seem to run out of juice...
