I don't see many runs coming with his lineup. I'd feel better with Aquino in CF. Reds will have paper thin bench today. Castellanos not available, Lopez optioned, Lorenzen not available (probably)
-
Not a great start. After getting 2 quick strikes on Peterson, Gray hit him on the foot. He then steals second. Got a huge jump. Urias (who's had a great series) strokes a solid single to left. 1st and 3rd.
-
On a bouncer to Gray, he gets the guy at third. But in the rundown, both runners got to 2nd and third. Just one down. Need a K or a pop-up. Next guy walks. Loads the bases. Need a DP. Hope infield is at DP depth.
-
Gray hits Telez. 1-0 Brewers. Gray already at 18 pitches.
Gray gets a called third strike and a comebacker to end the inning. Lots of trouble but only 1 run. 26 pitches
-
India walks. (Unusual for Burnes). Winker K's swinging. (we really need him to break out of his slump). Votto hit the ball well, but right at RF who makes nice snag.
Naquin grounds out to end the inning.
-
Gray gets Pina looking to start 2nd. Then Burnes gets an excuse me topper for a hit. Peterson flies out to Freeman who made a nice play. Urias walks.
43 pitches. Yelich grounds out to India. Still 1-0 44 pitches thru 2.
-
Suarez grounds softly to SS and Tucker out on a comebacker. Shogo out on 1 pitch.
-
Suarez Ole's a ball and goes for a hit. Should have been an error. Telez flies out. 51 pitches. Next guy hits into DP. 6 pitch inning. Needed that badly.
-
Freeman K's on 2 pitches and Gray K's on 4 pitches. Reds have not hits first time thru lineup.
India K's on 3. That was a bad inning
-
Gray K's Bradley. Then gets grounder. They showed replay of Gray wiping his butt on mound like a dog. Burnes caught looking.
62 pitches. 10 pitch ininng
-
Jesse flies out to warning track. Joey singles to get our first hit. Naquin grounds into FC. Votto out at second. Suarez paralyzed and watches strike three.
-
Gray K's Peterson swinging. Urias singles and goes to second on Shogo error. Yelich swings at ball over his head and strikes out. Adames walks.
Two on and 2 out. 85 pitches.
I want to see Perez out of the bullpen.
Nope we are apparently going to see Hendrix for the third straight game.
Telez walks. 91 pitches.
Taylor grounds a single thru the hole and we are down 3-0.
Bradley triples down 1b lind and it's 5-0
Henrix K's the last guy to mercifully end the inning.
-
Barnhart gets our second hit with a leadoff single. Shogo up. Hits in FC on soft grounder to first. Freeman next. Thank goodness it's not Barerra.
Freeman K's. Aquino pinch hitting for Hendrix. Please leave him in the game.
Aquino's K's.
Please Bell have a lick of sense and pitch Perez. The game is lost. That's when you want to evaluate.
-
Finally Bell does something right. Aquino stays and Perez in. Burns grounds out. Peterson grounds out. Urias K's swinging.
-
India flares a single into CF. Winker up.
Winker hits tailor made DP. Two out.
Votto K's weakly.
-
Perez still in. Good decision. See what he's got in a lost game. Yelich homers. After the homer Perez seems to lose control and walks next guy on 4 pitches.
Telez K's swinging on off speed pitch.
Goldsmith notes that no Red has reached second base.
Taylor K's.
Gives up soft grounder that finds a hole for a single.
Next guys grounds harmlessly.
-
That was Perez's first earned run since June 1st. Naquin, Suarez and Tucker go down meekly.
-
Doolittle in. I'd have rather evaluated Santillan. Gets first 2 easily.
Perez lowered his ERA to 6.95, lowest point since April 13th.
Doolittle gets them 1-2-3
-
Stevenson called out on a pitch way out of zone. Freeman K's swinging. Aquino K's looking.
-
Santillan in the game. Good evaluate him. Yelich grounds a single. Santillan throws a wild pitch outside, It's a ball that Barnhart normally gets. Adames hits 2 run homer.
-
Santillan did not make a case for himself.
-
India grounds out, Winker gets a solid single !! Votto hits into a FC but Telez throws wildly. 2 on 1 out. Naquin up. Naquin gets infield single. Adames almost made sensational play.
Suarez up. Suarez K's. Barnhart up. Barnhart goes down looking.
Reds managed 5 hits.
-
Suarez got the hat trick on his birthday.
