We need a shutout from Castillo.  This looks to be a very weak hitting lineup.  Winker slumping, Shogo in the lineup, no Castellanos, Votto 2/14, Suarez still at .177.

Thru the top of the second Castillo giving us the shutout. Offense did nothing in first

Reds work 2 walks and a run. Shogo hits a grounder to SS and the 1b boots the throw and a runner scores. Then Farmer doubles in Shogo. 2-0 Reds.

Go for the shutout

So the Reds are in extra going to the 11th. They had 3 hits in regulation.  THAT IS THE PROBLEM.

It doesn't help that in situations where you need strikeouts, Bell puts in contact pitchers.  (Osich, Doolittle, Brach).

And Lorenzen pitches one inning and looks to be hurt running the bases. Hamstring or Hip injury.

Hoffman allows the runner to score. An error by Farmer among other things leads to a bases loaded one out situation with Hendrix coming in. He needs to throw strikes.

They didn't walk bases loaded.  Lucky tapper scores 1 and a sac fly scores another.  7-4

Reds fall 7-4.  Nothing could overcome the lack of Reds offense tonight. 3 runs in regulation and 2 of those2 wouldn't have scored if not for an error.

This game exposes the flaws of Bell. The insistence on playing guys who are slumping.  Winker, Votto, Suarez, And putting in contact pitchers in strikeout situations.
